The new year has been a bit of a rough start for us. Our ultilities have been rather spotty. The electricity has been out and the water is out right now too (has been out for 2 days). Derek tried to ask a guy on the street about the water problem and it doesn't seem to be only our house. We think the water might be coming back on tomorrow but we are never sure if we are really understanding what people are telling us. We have already emptied all of our back-up water so Derek is off to a friend's house, which is on a different system, to fill up all our back-up water containers.
On a positive note our broken oven and water filter are now operational. The oven gave its all to cook the turkey and then died. We had an electrician come yesterday and we are back in business again. The water filter being broken was a huge pain because the tap water is not for drinking. It took a while to find someone to come and fix it but it was working better than it has since we moved in. It was taking about 20-30 minutes to fill the water pitcher and we have the time down to about half a minute. Beauty!!
